Rabbi Dr. Laura Duhan Kaplan,
Director of Inter-religious Studies at the Vancouver School of Theology, Rabbi Emerita of Or Shalom Synagogue
Laura Duhan Kaplan is a spiritual teacher of uncommon grace and depth. She serves as Director of Inter-Religious Studies at the Vancouver School of Theology, and as a core faculty member at ALEPH Ordination Programs, and holds the titles Rabbi Emerita of Or Shalom Synagogue and Professor Emerita of Philosophy at UNC Charlotte. she has promoted, researched, spoken and written about LGBTQ inclusion in the Jewish context and culture, and facilitated the formation of an LGBTQ group at her synagogue.
Laura has studied philosophy, education, Jewish studies, spiritual direction, depth psychology, and Ayurvedic yoga. She holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy and Education (Claremont Graduate University, 1991), Rabbinic Ordination (ALEPH Alliance for Jewish Renewal, 2005), and a Graduate Diploma in Spiritual Direction (Vancouver School of Theology, 2010).
